Once in this mode, it is exceptionally difficult to get them into productive action, and the longer they’re there, the more difficult it becomes to getting them into action.

Your best defense against this is to get them taking small, yet productive steps immediately.

If you are using a good online marketing system similar to the myjetstream system, then it’s a matter of getting them plugged into your MLM Advertising Coop right when they sign up. This is when they are most motivated to build a business, and the silly fears haven’t overtaken them yet.

You do have an MLM ad coop don’t you? If not, you should start one this week!

The beauty of getting them plugged into your coop is that it gets them generating leads right away, and even if they don’t call the propsects, there is an a chance that they will be getting upgrades. Of course, you need to train them on working with their MLM leads; encourage them to develop a relationship with the new pre-enrollees being generated by making an initial contact service call, then follow up weekly with audio or video emails, and other updates, turning the cold market lead into a prospect that knows, likes and trusts you… (more on this in another post)

But none of the training on making calls does any good, and in fact will fall on deaf ears, if they are not in action to generate the traffic immediately. Building an MLM business can only be mastered by getting on the field of play – it’s not a spectator sport.

The best mlm business opportunity is likely the one you’re currently in, if it meets a few simple requirements.

Let me explain.

First, I firmly believe in Yarnell’s law: “Do one thing at a time, do it right, finish it“. If you’ve not listened to any of the holy grail of networking series, I highly recommend it. Yarnell has a unique, cut to the chase style (BTW, I don’t get any form of compensation for recommending his work.) What this basically says, if you want to make big money in MLM or network marketing, you need to focus on ONE opportunity, learn how to build it, and do so until you’ve reached your goal.

If you are in a legitimate network marketing business right now, and if they have good products that you believe in and personally use, and the owners are good upstanding folk who keep to their word, and don’t mess with the compensation plan, and pay their distributors on time, you’re probably where you need to be. If anyone in your company has the success that you ultimately desire, then realize that if they can do it, so can you!

Now, unfortunately, from time to time, what was a good company, turns into a bad business. If the owners start messing with the comp plan, that’s a sure fire signal it’s time to start doing some research. If the products start shipping late, that might be a signal. Or if the commission checks are delayed, you may want to start your due diligence.

When the time does come to start looking for a new opportunity, be sure to spend the time to find a company, a product, and a team that build a business the way you want to build. For me, one of the key criteria was having a state of the art online prospecting system… I talk about the key elements that I looked for in an online prospecting system in another post, but in a nutshell, here are the key elements to look for.

a compelling video series, as well as excellent sales text (some people prefer to read rather than watch videos) to present the complete story of your business

a built in autoresponder to keep in contact with your prospects, customers and distributors,

a modern contact manager with instant contact email capability to send one off emails, and all activities the prospect does on the system should have tracking.

100% trackability. In today’s world, there’s no reason not to know what the prospect has seen or done on your website, so that you can spend your time with the right people.

integrated system training video so everyone get the exact same information

weekly live opportunity webinars, tracked of course, to help close your prospects

weekly live advanced team training.

Well there you have it. The best mlm business opportunity for me is the one with the best online prospecting system that works. This makes building a business from home fun, profitable and rewarding! Think about it.

Customers who cancelled rarely set up a tax file.”
– Bob Schmidt

My dad was an accountant, and while I’m not, I’ve always realized the importance of getting at least the basic understanding of the tax system to avoid overpaying on your taxes.

There really are two tax systems in the US – one for people who have a business and one for those that don’t. Believe me, the advantages tilt heavily in favor to those who own their own business!

If you are reading this, YOU own your own business.

The only requirements to write-off your home base business expense is **intent** to make a profit and to set up a tax file.

When you receive an automatic shipment each month, you’re sending a signal to your taxman that you intend to earn commission on every person you enroll as a customer or distributor. It makes no difference whether you enroll 1 customer a day or 1 customer a year. Your intent is to earn your MLM commission whenever you do.

One other simple thing you can do is get a credit card and or a checking account that is used exclusively for your business. This not only simplifies your accounting, it further strengthens your position as a business in the eyes of the tax man.

I learned a lot about taxes and home based business and minimizing your outlay by reading a great ebook titled “It’s How Much You Keep That Counts”
Download a copy here:

http://davidahanson.com/recommends/howmuchyoukeep

Find the link “It’s How Much You Keep That Counts” on the left menu.

I also use a software package specifically designed to organize your MLM tax file that has really helped me stay on top of my business. It’s called “MLM Tax Helper” and there is now a free download available for this as well:

http://davidahanson.com/recommends/mlmtaxhelper

The key to this process is to take ownership in your business. Learn the simple steps you can take to put more money in your pocket immediately, regardless of your success in building a network. You literally can take home the extra money to pay for your companies product each month (or much more!)
